I was responsible for the layouts, pre-viz animation and camera work. This was con-current with the editing so I could get the entire feel of the film as I go along.

00:02 - 00:25 Pre-Viz camera and layout of an action scene from storyboards to final animation. This complex shot was set up really quick with the help of motion capture data, which was the main driver behind our animation efficiency.

00:26 - 01:08 A meeting between two characters interrupted by a call to adventure. This entire sequence was blocked out in 3D because of an entire make over of Act01. The focus was to show why our main character, Ana, is stranded and what is she waiting for. The encounter with the alien creature, Crawley, becomes a opportunity to showcase a little interaction before their journey together.

01:09 - 01:47 I was responsible for the flow of the shots, making sure the camera and animation keeps the subject focus clear. The turnaround during the sequence climax was the toughest to achieve. Additional manta rays were added to accompany the sound track. Also added a short gag to further alleviate the culmination of their friendship and to bridge the sequence into Act03.

1:48 - 2:28 The first sequence of Act01. I wanted to establish a moody opening, using slow and steady camera movements to convey the feeling of loneliness and hopelessness.
